Childhood & Education
Asaduzzaman Khan was born on 31st December, 1950 at Synpukur village of Dohar, Dhaka. He comes of a noble Muslim family. He is the 2nd son of late Ashraf Ali Khan and late Akramun Nessa. He passed the S.S.C examination from Tejgaon Polytechnic High School in 1965 and H.S.C from Jagannath College in 1967. Mr. Asaduzzaman obtained B. Sc. (Hon’s) from University of Dhaka.
Mr. Khan started his career in politics from his student life. He got inspired with the ideals of the great Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He played significant role in the 1969 mass movement being the contemporary president of Tejgoan Thana Awami League.
Role in great Liberation War
Asaduzzaman Khan is a heroic freedom fighter who participated in our nation’s pride War of Liberation in 1971 under the supervision of Captain Abdul Halim in the 2nd sector.
Law Maker & Administrator
Mr. Khan was elected Member of Parliament of 9th Jatiya Sangsad on 29th December, 2008 and had served the nation as Member of Parliamentary Standing Committee for the Ministry of Housing & Public Works from 2009 to 2013, Member of Privatization Board from 2009 to 2013 and Member of Bangladesh Press Council. He is the founder member of Padma College, Dohar; President of Ispahani School & College, President of Tejgoan College and Syndicate Member of Sher-e-Bangla Krishi University.
Leadership in Social Works
Apart from these, he has been working for the betterment of the people by establishing and developing various religious & educational institutions and other public works.
Popular Law Maker & Home Minister
Asaduzzaman Khan was again elected Member of Bangladesh National Parliament in January, 2014 and took oath as the Minister of Home Affairs on 14th July, 2015.
Asaduzzaman Khan’s wife Mrs. Lutful Tahmina Khan is the chairperson of Savar Refractories Ltd. They are parents of a daughter and a son
Hobby and Travels
Mr. Khan has a great interest in reading books & newspapers and traveling. He visited United States of America, United Kingdom, Canada, China, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland and many other countries.
